My best YouTube videos of this year

MY FAVOURITE YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF 2009< <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

2009 has been a good year for viral videos, with political videos particularly coming into their own. In fact, 2009, has been the year when citizens have been able to get their voices heard, and even made money out of it. If you’ve got a camera, the world is your oyster, you don’t have to be a filmic wizard to get a following on YouTube, or any other video sharing network.

Here’s PLENTY’s top vids of 2009, in no particular order.

1) This video went viral in hours after he opened his mouth, and launched a scathing attack on Gordon Brown. No, he was not a House of Commons MP, he was a Brussels MEP, who eloquently told us what we already know about the PM. Gordon is steering us into oblivion. Congratulations to Daniel Hannan for telling it like it was, and is….

2) Susan Boyle: Britain’s Got Talent

Yes, she was a nobody (she looked odd, but her voice definitely wasn’t), and became a somebody overnight. She wowed three of the most hard faced judges in the land on Britain’s Got Talent, and has now had a record album selling millions. I dreamed a Dream is out now. The video has had more than a whopping 100 million views.

3) This is not actually political, but this video became a global hit too with over 33 million views. It’s actually quite funny, not that you would expect it to happen at most weddings.

4) Farage vs Brown

Actually, this lambast of Gordon was as forceful as Daniel Hannan’s lambast of Gordon was. Although not a global or UK hit, it shows the power of passionate politicians who can shine on video. Gordon probably won’t be smirking in a few months time when he’s kicked out of the bunker, eh?

5) Evian Roller Babies: 27 million views. An advert advertising water. Simples.

6) Draper v GUIDO FAWKES:

No hit this one, but was certainly watchable back in March when two of the top political foe bloggers went head to head on Andrew Neil’s Daily Politics to battle it out over who is king of the political blogosphere.

It certainly didn’t turn out to be a good year for Draper, who made a complete balls up from the very moment he re-entered the political arena. And we all know what happened next, don’t we?

What’s your best video of 2009? Doesn’t have to be any of those above. Reply in comments, please?

Welcome to this political and comical blog. This is not a 24 hour newswire. It is a forum for the writer to express views, gather some alternative news and angles, and muse on today's stories, and tomorrow's problems.
