Crocodile Tears?

THERE was a real gripping, Frost/Nixon moment today on Andrew Marr. Labour’s former head of strategy and media communications Alastair Campbell again revealed how powerful TV can be, in outlining emotions, (fake or sincere), of politiicians and former employees of politicians. You might not think that Marr is the greatest interviewer in the world, or that he has the ability to extract hidden gems from his interviewees, but Campbell’s pause-reflection moment really was the stuff of Oscar winning political films. Video below….

Campbell said he was upset by all the ganging up on Tony Blair’s decision to invade Iraq.

Are we entering a new phase of politics? The politics of crocodile tears, from Labour that is? Gordon’s ‘Piers Morgan’ moment to TP only stinks of trying to get the sympathy vote. Do politicians think we were born yesterday?
