38degrees of stupid, or harmless campaign fun?

The guys and girls at 38degrees are determined to uncover the truth about what MPs will be getting up to this summer – on their annual 57 days away from the Westminster bubble.

Some have said that this is a disgrace of a campaign, designed to villify MPs for doing what most of UK working people do, take a well earned summer break (some have only two weeks though, if they’re lucky). Of course, MP’s don’t return to work (well Westminster work) until October 12. There’s the conference season before then, and, of course, they’ll probably be at their constituencies engaging in good old face to face contact. Then they’ll be preparing or in the beginning of preparations for a May election next year. So it’s busy time for them. So is it 38degrees of stupid, as one politico put it, or just one of those fun campaigns that won’t be taken seriously anyway. Afterall, it’s the holiday season. Everybody is entitled to have some fun?
